Elly is a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees with several health problems. Her former owners could not give her the care she needed, so they signed her over to BDRA. She was en route to her new foster home when a driver observed her health change. A local foster home was asked to pick her up and make sure she was okay. Sadly, it was determined that Elly has a neurological issue resulting in seizures, and may have been exposed to distemper at some point. She doesn’t function like other puppies at 4 months old; her seizures result in aggressive biting and growling and other difficulties, including being unable to go up or down stairs. But Elly still loves to play, and enjoys chasing and chewing on her foster mom. She also loves to chime in and sometimes howls in harmony with her foster siblings! We’re thrilled Elly will be able to spend her days being spoiled and loved by her forever foster family.

Elly has a neurological issue resulting in seizures, and to make matters worse, without previous proper vetting, the little marshmallow may have been exposed to distemper at some point. She doesn’t function like other puppies , Elly also cannot walk up or downstairs; she tumbles. She still tries to do puppy things, but her mind/body coordination won’t let her…

She is thus going to be a fur-ever foster. She is thankfully in good hands and will spend her days being spoiled and loved. Rescue plans on spaying her eventually and making sure she is monitored and medicated so that she can function as best as possible. Although she has disabilities, she deserves a happy life, and her foster family plans on giving her just that. For a Great Pyrenees she is very small for her breed, a possible result of poor breeding. Please consider a donation towards her basic care and spay; she would be forever grateful.
