Fern spent two full days on transport to get to us for fostering. All of the drivers fell in love with her! Fern is still losing her pregnancy weight – she gave birth to 5 puppies in November. As soon as her mammary glands shrink more, she will be able to be spayed.
Fern is either all out sleeping and cuddling or all out playing. She greets us with full-body wags in the mornings and when we come home. Fern loves belly rubs! She enjoys walks and does very well on a leash. She also loves to lie in the sun in the backyard. She plays with plush toys and chews hard bones. Fern loves to play “tag” in the yard. She runs around and then stops. I have to tag her and then she’ll start running again. She is so much fun!
Fern is not food aggressive and is very gentle taking treats. She can be very lazy, sleeping in any empty space – couch, bed, table, etc. And she’s quite stubborn if you try to get her to move before she’s ready!
Fern quickly learned her way around our small home. She knows where to find the water bowl, and she will go to the back door and bark when she needs to go out. She will whine a little bit if she can’t find you – and then comes right to you when you call her name.
I can’t imagine any family where Fern would not be a good fit. She is so perfect and will be a joy to the family who adopts her!
