Freddie

Miniature Pinscher

Adopted!

Update 1/4/2022:

Freddie had his heart workup last week and it went well.  The vet said his murmur only sounds like a Grade 2 now.   He is not currently in need of any medication for his murmur.  He had six teeth extracted

Freddie  loves keeping warm and seems most comfortable wearing a doggie shirt or sweater.  If he’s not wearing one, you’ll find him curled up in blankets.  He is crate trained and now completely housebroken.  I leave his crate door open and he will sometimes retreat there for naps or if he decides the house is a little loud for him. He absolutely loves dental chews, and his vet says he can have one a day.  He can start his hard food back in two weeks and will finish his antibiotic on Thursday of this week. He should probably stick to a smaller type of food or have it softened.  He’s now missing almost 30 teeth.  It doesn’t really stop him yet though!   He is super smart and his navigation skills are amazing.  He relies a lot on my dogs who do have vision, and tends to follow their cues and routine.  This helped him adjust to our home really quickly.  Having another dog in the home is a plus but not a requirement.

Freddie is the most laid back little senior man! He gets around very well. Freddie spends most of his time curled up in a blanket or being nosy when he hears voices or other dogs. He loves having his head scratched and belly rubbed, but only on his terms. Sometimes he prefers retreating to his crate where he can curl up in his blanket and bed. Freddie likes plushie squeaky toys and tiny bully sticks. He does great with going potty outside but he does tinkle a lot. He has a great appetite and can eat dry food. He sometimes drinks too fast and will puke up the water he just drank. Freddie gets along fairly well with the other dogs. He doesn’t like when the dogs get in his face and will growl at them, but he has never snapped or bitten. He’s great with kids and loves to cuddle with them more than adults.
