Jade is a happy girl. Her favorite things are snuggling with her people and taking long walks. She does not realize her size and wants to be a lap dog or sit close to her person. She likes to go for walks and will often stop and stand very still to just listen to the sounds and take in the smells around her. She is housetrained and does not like to be crated so she sleeps on her dog bed all night. She is nondestructive so a crate is not needed. Since she has no sight she uses her paws and mouth to explore the world. She uses her paws to reach out and touch people and other dogs. This usually scares other dogs and they get scared not understanding why she is “hitting and grabbing” them, so playing with other dogs will need to be closely supervised. She also paws at people, so small children may get injured or frightened, and a home with small children is not recommended. She is not ever aggressive, but just uses her paws to “see”. She also likes to lick to explore the world and the people around her. When she meets new people or new dogs she is friendly and calm. She needs to be guided by her person since she has no sight. Jade is good at walking on a leash and is easily guided. She is a sweet, happy girl who just wants to love and be loved.

September 2022:  Jade had some separation anxiety when her foster mom returned to work after the summer break.  She was destructive for a few days due to trying to find her foster mom in the house.  Foster dad gave her some extra attention to calm her and Jade has now learned the new routine.  She was confused, and now understands that her foster mom is coming back home.  Jade lays at the door about 30 min before her foster mom gets home each day.  So sweet!
