As a cocker, she has had past chronic ear infections and does have some hearing loss, and is on ear drops now though they are not currently infected. She is heartworm negative, but did test positive for a low ehrlichia, which does not need treatment. She has a very soft heart murmur (2/6), which also does not need treatment and does not affect her.

Latest Updates

  1. Maybelline discovered tv when there was a program about wolves on tv…..so note that she is not completely blind but visually impaired. She LOVES to watch the fish in the tank too as a note (in photos below)….if anyone adopting her has or wants to get a goldfish.

  2. Maybelline has settled in very well! She is a happy girl that wags her tail nearly all of the time! She is the perfect size, housebroken and gentle. She lives with her other BDRA foster brother, Jake and the resident female doggie…and does well. She loves to go for walks, no matter the weather. She makes the rounds of the yard each time that she goes outside, and is FAST! Maybe loves to run, if she were a person she would be skipping all the time. While she wants to know where you are, and gets up to check, she is not a velcro dog and can relax easily on her own bed. She is not high energy, and is calm in the house. She has a favorite rope toy that she carries all about the house, she used to be possessive of it but has worked that out pretty well. She discovered the fish tank in her foster home, and checks on them several times a day…just laying down in front of the tank to watch them swimming about. One of her favorite past times is to sit at the front door and watch the people going by on the street….seems to be looking for her own people to come! Please follow her blog and consider adopting Maybelline!

  3. Pick Me! Pick Me!
Maybelline is about as sweet and easy a dog as they come! This little girl’s tail literally WAGS CONSTANTLY! She came to BDRA very badly matted and carrying hundreds of fleas…it took 8 hours of grooming on her first day with us, and she feels sooo much better! The groomer said she was the perfect lady through hours of work, and said that speaks for how good a girl she is!

She is the perfect size, 21 pounds. She is fully housebroken. She loves to go for walks and can keep up easily for quite a ways. Even though she has grey color around her eyes and nose, she is young, only between 5 and 6 years old. She is agile and trots with you about the house.

Maybelline has the most adorable speckled patch on her chest. She loves belly rubs, and will easily roll over to show you that cute patch! She loves to be petted and will climb right up into your lap for more if you let her.

She has good house manners, and respects a baby gate, will crate and has not jumped up on the table. She eats well, not picky at all. She loves car rides…and will crate quietly in the car or after a couple of minutes, curl up on the back seat.

She does need careful introductions to other dogs. She is now integrated with the two other dogs in her foster home, but prefers the male and may even prefer to be an only dog if given the chance. She does try to dominate other dogs, particularly female dogs, at first.

Maybelline is very pretty, and will fit easily into the right home. She has had a long road to safety and is READY! Please consider Maybelline!
