Paris is a 16 year-old poodle mix. She came to BDRA in January 2021 after her owner went into assisted living. Paris is a gentle dog who sleeps much of the time. When she is awake, she tends to walk in circles. She really enjoys eating, and barks when she knows it is mealtime. She doesn’t pay attention to the other dogs in her home although will get angry with them if they bother her while she is sleeping.
Paris has had a number of medical issues addressed during her time with BDRA including eye removal (double enucleation) because she had glaucoma that was not responsive to medication. She has many lumps on her body, and several large ones have been removed; one area needs to be watched due to atypical cells. Her teeth are not in good shape; she has had a dental though and has an adorable snaggletooth! She has an oral-nasal fistula, so may sneeze and snort after she eats and is at risk for an infection because food gets into her nasal cavity. Her right ear is calcified due to untreated ear infections in the past, and the eardrum cannot be seen. She hears very little. She has arthritis and vestibular disease, and can be wobbly when she walks. She weighs about 7 pounds and has trouble maintaining a good weight. However, she has recently improved with her housetraining and that is likely because she is more stable medically and feels so much better!
The Blind Dog Rescue decided to keep Paris right where she is, in her foster home, to live out the rest of her life. Her foster family loves having her with them!
Paris is not currently available for adoption, they are a forever foster.
