Mija

Chihuahua
Available for adoption!

Mija is a senior girl that just likes to be left alone. Foster family suspects possible abuse in her past. She has slight vision and flinches when hands go near her but will let you pick her up to take her outside or rub her behind her ears for a minute or two. She then wants to be put down and left alone to nap. She has been with her foster family for a brief time. At first she didn’t even want to be touched or held but slowly is learning to trust her foster parents. She is fine with other dogs being in the house but really doesn’t want to have anything to do with them – except she will occasionally lay on the same bed as another dog.She is perfect for someone that just wants a companion and has the patience to let her become comfortable. She has started going up to her foster mom for attention so the foster family is confident that with time and patience she will be a lot more affectionate. The foster family is attempting to house break her. She will go to the bathroom outside but will just stand there and wait for someone to take her back inside. Foster mom is also trying to teach her how to use a wee pad but so far has been unsuccessful. It is a work in progress.Do you have room in your home and heart for a little girl that really needs to be loved?
