Adonis & Titan
Boxer/Bulldog MixAvailable for Adoption!
Update: May 30, 2025
When Adonis and Titan wag their tails, their entire 60-lb bodies wiggle. This bonded boxer-bulldog pair, a mostly-blind father and his seeing-eye companion son, have a lot to be happy about in their foster home. They get regular meals, lots of good-boy treats, squeaky toys, fluffy dog beds and a comfy couch to sleep on, and they only meet nice people (no bad ones anymore!). But they have been at their foster home for over a year, and they are looking forward to finding their happily ever after.
A year and a half ago, they were struggling to survive on their own after being dumped in rural Kentucky. They were skinny, dehydrated, had teeth falling out of their mouths, and were running out of hope. Then one stormy night, they somehow stumbled into the home of a kind human, and their lives were changed forever. Lots of kind people and a dash of luck later, they were officially Blind Dog Rescue Alliance dogs. Thanks to donors, they got vetting and some much-needed dental work, relieving the pain they were in. They have been in a foster home in central Ohio since January 2024 and are still looking for the perfect forever home together.
They are happy, silly, loving boys. They are enthusiastic, athletic, and affectionate 60-pound boxer/bulldog mixes who find joy in being around each other and people – ANY people! They love everyone they meet with so much enthusiasm... some might say too much enthusiasm. But not a boxer or bulldog lover! Their perfect home will understand and love that boxer/bulldog energy!
Nobody is sure where this bonded father/son pair came from, and it’s hard to guess their story. They seem to be familiar with both the bad and good life. Their bodies show signs of having been chained or kenneled all the time. They are also hand-shy around their heads and have some resource guarding, so they have to be fed separately. They also have a strong prey drive, so no cats, bunnies, birds, small dogs or other small animals!
But they hold no grudges. They are house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. They take treats gently and think they are lap dogs. Adonis does a perfect “sit” and Titan has a 100% return rate when playing fetch. They both come when called (most of the time).
People can be intimidated by their looks; they are big, athletic, and strong. They absolutely LOVE kids, but forget how big they are, so small ones are not recommended. But their foster mom calls Adonis “Mr. Cuddlesworth” because he’s such a cuddlebug!
They are both big squishy babies who love to cuddle. They both absolutely live for “Netflix and cuddle” time. They love to snuggle up on the couch with humans for a movie or TV marathon. Their foster parents always squish their faces because it's impossible not to. They soak up every bit of attention they can get. They live for cuddles, pets, attention, and treats.
Adonis gets around very well despite his vision impairment. He occasionally runs into things, but he can go up and down stairs very well and navigates the house. He can always find a treat, a cozy bed, or a person. His sense of hearing and smell are perfect.
Titan LOVES toys and playing fetch. Balls are life for Titan. It’s a bit of an obsession. He loves to chase, cuddle with, and show everyone his ball. He has a ball in his mouth about 75% of the time.
They have a medium amount of energy. They can be couch potatoes, but they also like to run around and play in the backyard and take walks. But if it’s raining or extra cold, they don’t want anything to do with being outside any longer than necessary, and they are perfectly content to just be lazy all day. Titan has more energy than Adonis, being a younger guy, and will make up his own games in the back yard with a bouncy ball. Adonis prefers to sit on the deck or be inside — wherever the humans are!
They love each other very much and get very worried when they are separated. These two are ready to find someone with bully-breed experience who appreciates the bully personality and quirks, and is ready to welcome the sometimes slobbery, but always enthusiastic zest for life that these two are offering!
