Rosie
Shih Tzu Mix
Available for Adoption!
Once you meet lovely Rosie, you’ll want her in your life forever! This delightfully petite gal is around 12 years old, but don’t let her age fool you! She has pep in her step and loads of personality! Although she enjoys nap time, Rosie adores dinner time and will dance around like a silly puppy getting her first treat! She will make you giggle at every meal!
Because sweet Rosie came to BDRA as a shelter stray, we don’t know her life story. We can tell you that, upon arrival, Rosie was in very poor physical condition. She had skin, eye, and ear infections and an extreme flea infestation. While the fleas were taken care of immediately, we are continuing to work hard with her vet and via holistic solutions to find the right combination of treatments for her skin and ear infections. We want Rosie to be as comfortable and healthy as she can be!
Through BDRA, Rosie was spayed, was given a dental cleaning, and had a large benign mammary tumor removed. Rosie likely will always have allergy, yeast, and/or mammary mass issues. Rosie is completely blind and beginning to lose her hearing. Her left eye is smaller and has some discharge from it. Her right eye has a mature cataract. Sometimes she’ll look at the wall instead of at you when you’re talking to her but be ready! Rosie can still hear that treat bag open up from across the house!
This pampered princess sleeps in bed with her foster parents, on the couch, and on her “camping” chair! Rosie isn’t crated, but she has a crate that she enjoys napping in. Rosie is working on her leash walking skills. With practice, it could be a fun activity for you to take Rosie for a stroll around your neighborhood.
Rosie is versatile with her house training. She will either use a wee pad or go outside, but you’ll need to remind her and take her out on a regular schedule. Rosie is a busy gal who doesn’t always remember!
While Rosie has often been a daddy’s girl with her fosters, she loves her foster moms just as much! Rosie’s current foster mom is home all the time which is perfect as she continues to work through her medical issues. Although small in size, Rosie will fill your home with all the love you need! Since Rosie can be selective with her doggie friends, she will be better in a home as an only dog or with a calm dog who will give her the space she prefers. Rosie would make a wonderful companion for you if you’re a senior, a couch potato, a family without young children, or if you just like to hang out and chill at home!
